November 2009:
  • Bananagrams. The anagram game that will drive you bananas! A perfect Christmas gift. An award-winning game for ages 7-97. Portable and quick, it can be played in as little as 5 minutes. We tested it out at home and like it. Comes in little canvas banana pouch.
  • We also have some new math learning games, like multiplication/division bingo, etc.

New this summer (2009):

  • Saxon lesson CDs for 4th grade and up.  Brand-new from Saxon, and just released this summer! Comprehensive lesson instruction, complete step-by-step solutions to every problem, a user-friendly CD format with simple navigation, Windows and MAC compatible. $90 each. In-stock. Available for 5/4 - 8/7, Algebra 1, Algebra 2 and Advanced Mathematics.
  • Saxon Geometry homeschool edition. Also just released this year. Geometry is integrated into the Algebra 2 and Advanced Math programs, however, this option is available for those students who aren't ready for Advanced Math, or who only require a Geometry credit.
  • Grammar and Writing by Stephen Hake, co-author of the Saxon middle-grades math books. (I just call it "Saxon Grammar" since it has the same format as Saxon math).  Grammar & Writing covers English grammar, writing, spelling, punctuation, and vocabulary development. A comprehensive language arts program based on the Saxon model of incremental development and continual review. Follows the same format as the Saxon math books. Available for grades 5-8, $75.
  • PAC: Paradigm Accelerated Curriculum. Values-based, non-sectarian courses for jr. high and high school.  I was very pleased to meet the founder, Ronald Johnson, at the IDEA homeschool convention this spring, and am excited to be carrying this unique program. When you have time, read Mr. Johnson's inspiring story on their website (click on "about", the "journey essay").  Every PAC course (except American History) consists of 5 or 6 chapters, each individually bound in an easy-to-digest workbook format. Also included are activity books for each chapter, and teacher guides with quizzes, tests and answer keys.  Designed for independent study (No lesson plans or preparation are needed by the parent.) Uplifting and optimistic life principles are woven throughout each course. English for grades 8-12, Math for grades 7-8, Science for grades 7-12, American History (2 years worth of material in this course! Thorough and balanced. Read Cathy Duffy's review here).
  • Evan-Moor Daily Science for grades 1-4 (grades 5 and 6 will be coming in the spring). $30 each. See Evan-Moor's website for page samples.
  • Notebooking journals for Apologia Elementary Science. Beautiful, spiral-bound journals for your children to record their learning. Available for Botany, Astronomy, and Zoology 1. Sample pages are available on their website. $24.00 each.
  • Instructing a Child's Heart. Publisher description: Picking up where Shepherding a Child's Heart left off, Ted and Margy Tripp's new book, Instructing a Child's Heart, helps parents give instruction to their children that will persuade them of God's wisdom. Instead of focusing solely on behavior issues, the authors look at the heart of your child. Point your child toward the happiness they will find from doing things God's way!
  • Boundaries with Teens. Publisher description: In this exciting new book, Dr. Townsend gives important keys for establishing healthy boundaries-the bedrock of good relationships, maturity, safety, and growth for teens and the adults in their lives. The book offers help in raising your teens to take responsibility for their actions, attitudes, and emotions.
  • Eat Your Way around the World. Publisher description: Get out the sombrero for your Mexican fiesta! Chinese egg rolls! Corn pancakes from Venezuela! Fried plantains form Nigeria! All this and more is yours when you take your family on a whirlwind tour of over thirty countries in this unique international cookbook. Jam-packed with delicious dinners, divine drinks, and delectable desserts, this book is sure to please. $15. Also available: Eat Your Way across the USA.
